Description
Cathepsin S (CTSS, EC 3.4.22.27) is a lysosomal cysteine protease, which is recommended to participate in the degradation of antigen proteins into peptides and present them to MHC class II molecules. Our cathepsin S inhibitor screening kit utilizes the ability of cathepsin S to cleave AFC-based synthetic peptide substrates to release AFC, which can be easily quantified using a fluorometer or fluorescence microplate reader. In the presence of cathepsin S inhibitors, the cleavage of the substrate is reduced/eliminated, resulting in a reduction or complete loss of AFC fluorescence. This high-throughput adaptive analysis kit is a simple, sensitive and rapid tool for screening potential inhibitors of cathepsin S.
