Assay Overview

Description

Brief exposure to glutamate in vitro can cause neuron death, which makes glutamate a useful tool for evaluating neuroprotective activity. Creative Biolabs' in vitro excitotoxicity assays provide the advantage of rapid analysis of molecular neuroprotective potential. In our analysis, we incubated primary rat neurons with the test compound 24 hours before L-glutamate injury. After 24 hours of exposure, we analyzed different parameters related to all stages of the cell death process. Some of the endpoints we analyzed were cell viability, LDH release, neurite outgrowth, or Caspase activation.

Mycoplasma Testing

The cell line has been screened using the luciferase based mycoplasma detection kit to confirm the absence of mycoplasma species.

Sterility Testing

Sterility testing was performed in accordance with USP and EP regulations. All of our sterility testing is performed in an isolator or clean room environments. The cell line has been screened using the membrane filtration testing methods to confirm the absence of aerobic, anaerobic and fungi microorganisms.

Genetic Stability Testing

Cell genetic stability study was perfomed under ICH guidelines. We provide guidance on the appropriate testing program upon your requirements.
