Product Overview

Description

Enteric glial cells (EGC) play a key role in the inflammatory response of the enteric nervous system, which is the largest and most complex part of the peripheral nervous system in terms of structure and function. Immortalized rat enteric glial cell (EGC) is a valuable tool for studying the inflammatory response of the enteric nervous system because it is an immortalized cell line established from the rat myenteric plexus. Cells express low levels of c-fos mRNA, but it can be upregulated by the stimulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-1β and TNF-α).
