Description

Mouse enteric neural crest stem cells are isolated from intestinal tissue; neural crest stem cells (NCSC), namely peripheral nervous system stem cells, originate from the dorsal side of the neural tube in the embryonic stage, and are morphologically different from central nervous system stem cells. , NCSC can express the low-affinity neurotrophic factor receptor p75NTR and cannot differentiate into oligodendrocytes, while CNS stem cells are just the opposite. NCSC can differentiate into a variety of tissues in different parts, such as neurons, glia, melanocytes, endocrine cells, smooth muscle, skeletal muscle and bone, etc., among which it can specifically differentiate into neurons and glia in the enteric nervous system. NCSC, known as enteric neural crest stem cells (gut neural crest stem cells, GNCSC).
