Product Overview

Description

The mouse anti-human EGF receptor recognizes the epidermal growth factor (EGF) receptor, a 150 kDa transmembrane receptor, also known as ERBB1. The EGF receptor is a member of the ERBB family of four structurally related receptor tyrosine kinases. The binding of one of many EGF receptor ligands (EGF, Amphiregulin, TGFα, Epiregulin) can cause receptor dimerization. This leads to the downstream activation of multiple signaling pathways including MAPK/ERK, PI3K/Akt and PLCγ/PKC. The overexpression of EGF receptor promotes gene amplification and mutation, leading to cell proliferation, survival, invasion, metastasis and tumor-induced neovascularization.

Immunogen

E. coli derived recombinant protein corresponding to aa 363-499 of the human EGF receptor.
