Product Overview

Description

Fructose 1, 6-diphosphate dialdehyde acetalase catalyzes the reversible condensation of glycerol P and glyceraldehyde triphosphate to fructose 1, 6-diphosphate. Fructose 1, 6-bisphosphate phosphate aldolase exists in three forms, namely muscle-specific aldolase A, liver-specific aldolase B and brain-specific aldolase C. Aldolase A, B and C From a common ancestral gene, aldolase B diverges first. Aldolase A is one of the most highly conserved enzymes known, with only about 2% of the residues changing every 100 million years. Aldolase B is regulated by the hormones insulin and glucagon, and is associated with hereditary fructose intolerance. Aldolase C is a polypeptide expressed only in Purkinje cells. Aldolase C-positive Purkinje cells are organized into strips or bands in the cerebellum, traverse the cerebellum from front to back, and alternate with Aldolase C-negative Purkinje cells.
