Caspase-3 (3.4.22.56) is a cysteine ​​protease that can cleave the C-terminus of aspartic acid residues at position P1. The lysis event is a key step in the downstream signal transduction and amplification of apoptosis or programmed cell death. Apoptosis is a strictly regulated event, which plays a central role in the development and homeostasis of multicellular organisms. Our Caspase-3 Fluorescence Activity Assay Kit II can detect and quantify the activity of Caspase-3 by using the synthetic substrate DEVD-AFC (AFC: 7-amino-4-trifluoromethylcoumarin). Caspase-3 will emit a strong and stable fluorescence signal after cutting (Ex / Em = 400/505 nm). The assay is sensitive and rapid, and can perform high-throughput quantification of Caspase-3 activity in cell lysates or adherent cells, and can be used to evaluate the induction of apoptosis and/or evaluate apoptosis inhibitors. The activity per well is as low as 11.25 mU, and less than 500 apoptotic cells can be detected
