Description
Cystatin C (CST3) is mainly used as a biomarker of kidney function. It also plays a role in brain diseases involving amyloid, such as Alzheimer's disease. It can be found in almost all tissues and body fluids. It is an effective inhibitor of lysosomal proteases and may be one of the most important extracellular inhibitors of cysteine proteases. Our CST3 ELISA kit is a sandwich ELISA assay for the quantitative measurement of rat CST3 in serum, plasma and cell culture supernatant. The density of the color is proportional to the number of rat CST3 captured from the sample.
