Description

The green fluorescent immortalized human brain microvascular endothelial cells (IM-HBMEC-tGFP) provided by Creative Biolabs were developed by immortalizing primary human brain endothelial cells with SV40 large T antigen and transfecting with tGFP.

Each vial of IM-HBMEC-tGFP contains more than 1 million living cells. Creative Biolabs also provides optimized media and reagents for the growth of IM-HBMEC-tGFP. Application Notes

Due to its unique functions, BMEC is a useful tool for studying the molecular and cellular properties of the blood-brain barrier. Immortalized human brain microvascular endothelial cells can also establish in vitro models for high-throughput screening and high-content screening.

Mycoplasma Testing

The cell line has been screened using the luciferase based mycoplasma detection kit to confirm the absence of mycoplasma species.
