Description

Olfactory glial cells (OEG) are valued for their unique properties in promoting the regeneration of central nervous system components. Although the proliferation rate of immortalized human olfactory ensheathing glial cells-Bmi1/hTERT (hTL4) cells is comparable to their main counterparts, the addition of SV40 T antigen can effectively increase the proliferation of these immortalized cells. Similar to immortalized human olfactory ensheathing glial cells-Bmi1/hTERT (hTL4) cells, immortalized human olfactory ensheathing glial cells-Bmi1/hTERT/SV40 (Ts14) cells maintain their lineage-specific markers and nerve regeneration characteristics.
