Description

Spinal and bulbar muscle atrophy is a debilitating neurodegenerative disease caused by motor neuron degeneration and muscle atrophy in the brainstem and spinal cord. This condition is associated with mutations in the androgen receptor (AR) gene. Creative Biolabs cell lines derived from patients with spinal cord and bulbar muscular atrophy are excellent models for studying this rare genetic disorder.
