Product Overview

Description

Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is the most abundant peroxidase in neutrophils (EC 1.11.1.7). It is green hemoglobin found in neutrophils and monocytes. It catalyzes the reaction of hydrogen peroxide and halide ions to form cytotoxic acids and other intermediates. These intermediates are oxygen-dependent to kill tumor cells and Play a role in microorganisms. Its heme pigment makes secretions rich in neutrophils (such as pus and some forms of mucus) green. Furthermore, hydrogen peroxide can be used as an oxidizing agent to oxidize tyrosine to a tyrosine group. In our MPO analysis kit, MPO catalyzes the production of NaClO from H 2 O 2 and NaCl. Subsequently, NaClO will react with aminophenylfluorescein (APF) stoichiometrically to produce fluorescein, which has strong fluorescence and can be detected at Ex / Em = 485/525 nm. The kit provides a fast, simple, sensitive and reliable test method, which is suitable as a high-throughput detection method for MPO activity. The kit can be used to detect MPO activity as low as 0.5μU per well.
