Product Overview

Description

The mouse anti-human transferrin antibody recognizes serum transferrin, also known as β-1 metal-binding globulin or ferritin.
The TF gene encodes a glycoprotein with a molecular weight of about 76.5 kDa. It is believed that this is due to an ancient gene duplication event that resulted in the production of homologous C and N-terminal domains, each of which binds an iron ion. The function of this protein is to transport iron from the intestine, reticuloendothelial system and liver parenchymal cells to all proliferating cells in the body. The protein can also play a physiological role as granulocyte/pollen binding protein (GPBP), participating in the process of removing certain organics and allergens from the serum.
