Product Overview

Description

PPT1 (Palmitoyl-protein thioesterase-1) was originally discovered as the enzyme that catalyzes polypeptide depalmitoylation. During lysosomal degradation, PPT1 removes the thioester-linked palmitic acid from the modified cysteine of targeted protein, which is important to palmitoylated protein degradation. Deficits in PPT1 have been identified as the leading cause of infantile neuronal ceroid liposuscinosis.

Immunogen

Recombinant protein corresponding to amino acids 100-306 of human PPT1.
