Description
4α-PDD acts as an activator of TRPV4 (transient receptor potential vanilloid 4). TRPV4 was found to be an osmosensitive receptor that is activated at low osmolarity and exhibits temperature sensitivity and osmosensitivity. TRPV4 has been reported to be involved in the barrier function of the skin. 4α-PDD was also used as a negative control for phorbol 12,13-dicaprate.
