Description
Our cathepsin B inhibitor screening kit makes use of cathepsin B's capacity to cleave AFC-based synthetic peptide substrates, releasing AFC that can be easily detected using a fluorometer or fluorescence microplate reader. In the presence of cathepsin B-specific inhibitors, substrate cleavage is decreased or eliminated, resulting in a decrease or full loss of AFC fluorescence. This easy and high-throughput adaptability assay kit can be used to screen, investigate, and characterize possible cathepsin B inhibitors.
