Description

F-12 medium is a nutrient mixture designed to be used in combination with serum, hormones and transferrin to cultivate a variety of mammalian and hybridoma cells. Ham's F-12 medium is designed to achieve low density and serum-free Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells. F-12 is based on Ham's F-10 medium, and the concentration of choline, inositol, putrescine and many amino acids is increased.

Ham's F-12 medium has been used for cancer cells, rat skeletal myoblasts, Chinese hamster lung cells, and embryos of rats, chickens and rabbits.
