Product Overview

Description

Astrocytes constitute 20-40% of the total number of cells in the mammalian brain and they play multifaceted and vital roles in maintaining neurophysiological function of the central nervous system (CNS) by regulating homeostasis, increasing synaptic plasticity, and sustaining neuroprotective effects. Increasingly evidence suggests astrocytes play the central role in neurodegenerative disorders, stoke and other brain injury. Human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs)-derived astrocytes are a useful in vitro model for exploring its function and the molecular mechanisms of CNS diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease.

iNeu™ Human Astrocytes: Autism Spectrum Disorder Patient from Creative Biolabs are derived from human iPSCs and expresses typical astrocyte markers (GFAP, S100β, ALDH1L1 and CD44), which have a great potential for uncovering the mechanisms of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
