Description
Mouse anti-human creatine phosphokinase antibody can recognize creatine kinase B type, also known as creatine kinase B chain, creatine kinase B type, creatine kinase B, epididymal cavity protein 211 and epididymal secretory protein Li 29.
Creatine kinase type B is encoded by the CKB gene and is a cytoplasmic enzyme involved in energy homeostasis. It reversibly catalyzes the phosphate transfer between ATP and various phosphates (such as creatine phosphate). It acts as a homodimer in the brain and other tissues, and a heterodimer with muscle-like isoenzymes in the heart. Creatine kinase type B is a member of the ATP:guanidine phosphotransferase protein family. The pseudogene of CKB has been characterized (provided by RefSeq, July 2008).
