Product Overview

Description

The mouse anti-creatine phosphokinase antibody recognizes creatine phosphokinase, also known as creatine kinase (CK), an enzyme expressed by various tissues and cell types. CK catalyzes the conversion of creatine and consumes adenosine triphosphate (ATP) to produce creatine phosphate and adenosine diphosphate (ADP).
In cells, the "cytoplasmic" CK enzyme consists of two subunits, which can be B (brain type) or M (muscle type). There are three different isoenzymes: CKMM, CKBB and CKMB.
Mouse anti-creatine phosphokinase antibody can recognize CKMB, but cannot distinguish the isoforms of CKMB1 and CKMB2. The reactivity of mouse anti-creatine phosphokinase antibody with CKBB or CKMM is less than 0.1%, and the reactivity with other human serum proteins is the lowest.
