Product Overview

Description

The mouse anti-human creatine phosphokinase antibody recognizes creatine phosphokinase, which reversibly catalyzes the phosphate transfer between ATP and creatine to produce creatine phosphate. In cells, cytoplasmic creatine phosphokinase is composed of two subunits, which can be B (brain type) or M (muscle type). There are three isozymes with M and B type homodimers or heterodimers: CKMM or CKBB and CKMB, respectively. CKBB is found in the brain and CKMB is found in the heart tissue (provided by RefSeq, July 2008).
The mouse anti-human creatine phosphokinase antibody detected a 42 kDa band. This antibody has been extensively validated using whole cell lysates and can be used for Western blotting.
