Product Overview

Description

Rat meningeal cells are isolated from meningeal tissue; meninges are the diaphragm between the skull and the brain. There are three layers in total, from the outside to the inside, the dura mater, the arachnoid and the pia mater. The dura mater is a thick and tough double-layered membrane. The outer layer is the periosteum on the inner surface of the skull. It is only loosely attached to the calvaria, especially in the occipital and temporal regions. The arachnoid is a translucent membrane that lies deep within the dura mater, with a potential space between it called the subdural space. The pia mater is a transparent film that adheres to the surface of the brain and extends into the fissure. In some parts of the ventricular wall, the pia mater and its blood vessels form the choroid tissue together with the ependymal epithelium. The blood vessels in the choroid tissue repeatedly branch into plexuses and protrude into the ventricles to form the choroid plexus. Meningeal cells surround the brain and participate in the normal development of the central nervous system. They can stabilize the extracellular matrix on the surface of the pia mater, organize the radial glial cell network and the layered structure of the cerebellar cortex.
