Description

Mouse anti-human MAdCAM-1 antibody, clone 314G8 recognizes human mucosal addressing cell adhesion molecule 1 (MAdCAM-1), a 60kD cell surface protein involved in lymphocyte transport. MAdCAM-1 is expressed on the high endothelial venules in Peyer's plaque and mesenteric lymph nodes. The expression of MAdCAM-1 has also been reported in the lamina propria of the intestine, but clone 314G8 cannot recognize MAdCAM-1 in these tissues. Clone 314G8 reacts with the first Ig domain of the binding ligand, and reports indicate that there is a splice variant in the intestine, which is not recognized by clone 314G8. It is reported that clone 314G8 prevents the interaction of MAdCAM-1 with alpha 4 beta 7.
