Description
By using ICC and/or PCR techniques, it has been demonstrated that iPS cell lines can express typical pluripotency markers (such as Tra1-60, Oct3/4, and nanog). Additionally, it has been demonstrated that this cell line is karyotype-normal and that it still retains the capacity to spontaneously differentiate into all three germ layers.

Handling Advice
Frozen cells:Upon receipt, frozen ampoules should be transferred directly to gaseous phase liquid nitrogen without delay, unless they are to be used straight away.
Growing cells: Growing cell cultures should be checked on receipt using an inverted microscope. Immediately check the cell density upon arrival for any obvious defects. If the cell density is too high (more than 80% confluent) subculture the cells (harvest and reseed) immediately.

Mycoplasma was tested for sterility, post-freezing viability, and short-term repeat (STR) analysis for cell line identification. Cytochrome oxidase I (COI) was analyzed for cell line species identification.
